January 30 is the last day to score pre-order promotions for the Galaxy S24 series

Good deals on new gadgets aren’t always easy to find, which is why we love a good pre-order promotion. Samsung has offered some pretty solid ones in recent years and, true to form, is discounting the entire Galaxy S24 range ahead of its launch tomorrow, January 31.

Plus, retailers like Amazon and Best Buy offer similar storage upgrades and gift cards whether you buy the Samsung Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, or the high-end S24 Ultra. But you may want to act quickly. Samsung’s deals expire tonight at 3am ET/12pm PT, and we expect promotions at Amazon and other retailers to follow shortly.

Samsung’s smartphone range consists of three phones: the standard S24, the S24 Plus and the S24 Ultra. All phones run the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which – as we noted in our recent S24 Ultra review – offers a mixed bag of AI-powered features. Samsung is also promising at least seven major Android upgrades and security updates no matter which phone you buy, while each phone also has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz.

The Galaxy S24 uses a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset to power a host of new AI features. It will also receive seven years of updates, but hardware-wise it’s an iterative update with a slightly larger screen and longer battery life.

However, each phone differs in price, with the standard Samsung Galaxy S24 – which we are still testing – because it is the cheapest. It’s larger than its predecessor at 6.2 inches, but it also has less screen space than its siblings and a smaller battery. It also lacks the Ultra’s S Pen support, and the camera system isn’t as capable.

Typically, the Galaxy S24 starts at $799.99 with 128GB of storage and 8GB of RAM. Right now, though, Samsung is upping that storage to 256GB for free and throwing in a $75 gift card. Amazon and Best Buy, meanwhile, are offering the same storage upgrades, but with $50 gift cards. Note that you’ll need to apply a promo code TTYSDPOR7WPL at Amazon to take advantage of the deal.

Unlike in recent years, the Galaxy S24 Plus will have the same QHD resolution as the Ultra model. Otherwise, it offers a very similar experience to the base model, only it’s noticeably larger at 6.7 inches. That makes it room enough for a larger 4,900 mAh battery with 45W fast charging.

Alternatively, you can use the Samsung Galaxy S24Plus, which we are also still testing. On paper, the camera system is similar to that of the S24, but the Plus offers a sharper 6.7-inch 1440p screen. It also offers a much larger battery and more RAM.

The Galaxy S24 Plus starts at $999.99 of 12 GB RAM and your choice of 256 GB or 512 GB storage. Samsung, Amazon and Best Buy all offer a free storage upgrade; However, Amazon is throwing in a $150 gift card with code MJ93PYFCJHOJ, while Samsung is offering a $125 gift card. Best Buy, meanwhile, is offering a $100 gift card.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is the first in the series to use a titanium frame. It also includes an integrated S Pen and an upgraded camera package, along with the largest display in the S24 line.

Last but not least there is the 6.8 inch Samsung Galaxy S24Ultra, which my colleague Allison Johnson recently reviewed. The premium device comes with an S Pen and is the most capable phone in Samsung’s S24 series. It’s durable, with titanium construction and a new impressive anti-reflective coating, the latter of which works remarkably well in direct sunlight. The 50-megapixel 5x telephoto camera and 200-megapixel main camera are also fantastic, even if they’re not dramatically different from last year’s cameras. And while we weren’t impressed with the battery life, you should be able to get through a whole day just fine.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra starts at $1,299.99 with 256GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, although you can currently upgrade it to 512GB of storage for free through Samsung, Amazon, and Best Buy. Amazon is also throwing in a $200 gift card if you use the code FEA7SP3UFDJNwhile Best Buy and Samsung are offering $150 and $100 gift cards, respectively.
