2025 Ram 1500 Ramcharger With ‘Unlimited’ Battery Range: Watch First-Ever Walkaround Video

This is the first time Ram has allowed the media to view the 2025 Ramcharger.

The 2025 Ram Ramcharger has an electric range of 140 miles, plus a range-extending gasoline engine, bringing the total range to 700 miles, which beats any other electric truck.

The Fast Lane Truck was invited to take a closer look at the Ramcharger, becoming the first media outlet to gain hands-on experience with the Ramcharger and present it to its viewers and now to the readers of InsideEVs.

The Fast Lane Truck reads:

First ever hands-on with the 2025 Ram Ramcharger. You won’t believe the range with this EV pickup with a range!

The 2025 Ram Ramcharger isn’t like other “electric” trucks.

The Ramcharger has an electric range of 140 miles, plus a range-extending gasoline engine, allowing it to travel further than any other “electric” truck on the market.

As for why we referenced “unlimited” battery electric range in the headline, that’s because Tim Kuniskis, CEO of the Ram brand, made the statement in the press release announcing the Ramcharger:

“With unlimited battery-electric range, the Ram 1500 Ramcharger is the pinnacle of the light-duty pickup segment and the ultimate electric truck.”

However, the ‘unlimited’ here is marketing talk. Yes, the Ramcharger can use its gasoline generator to provide electricity for the battery and that juice propels the truck down the road, but eventually the gas in the tank will run out. The electrical range is therefore limited.

Perhaps the Ramcharger’s biggest advantage over other electric pickup trucks is that it looks almost exactly like a Ram 1500 with a gas engine. That’s a plus, since America seems to love the traditional Aries.

Additionally, Ram will offer the Ramcharger in many different trims, including Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Limited and Tungsten. This means that the traditional Ram trims will continue with the Ramcharger.

If The Fast Lane truck reads:

The Ramcharger looks fairly normal at first glance. It has a traditional shape and the latest Ram 1500 styling. If you saw it from across the street, you wouldn’t think twice about it. That is the point. Ram offers a new choice of powertrains, but the truck’s functionality remains largely the same.

The Ramcharger will go on sale in early 2025. No pricing information is available at this time. However, we do expect it to be on the pricey side (perhaps starting at around $60,000 and maxing out well over $100,000), given the dual powertrain and very large battery pack (at least for a PHEV/EREV).

The Fast Lane Truck Didn’t get to look under the hood or under the truck, but the rest of the vehicle was decent and what we see is a Ram 1500 with just a few minor EV-specific design changes. However, they are minor.

Conclusion? If you like the Ram 1500, then you’ll probably love the Ramcharger.
